First I would like to thank all of you for your advice and encouragement. I’m not someone who sits around so I did what Bob said and took advantage of a rainy day and went to work. I was able to get the sails pretty straight and the flat iron supports pretty close to original.
Mike thank you for your generosity. I think I got everything ready for the next step. I’ll be raising the tower next week and working on new footings and supports. I’ll keep you update.
God Bless.

We are anxiously waiting for the ground to dry out so the big truck crane can erect my A702,
rain expected for the next week at least, (feast or famine).

Wow that looks really good. While it's down, check the brake adjustment rod. They rust up all the time. Make sure it works free, and the nut is tacked to the little H bracket. That way it's easy to adjust the brake while in the air.

Thanks Mike & Bob. That leads me to a few questions. If my windmill is not pumping water is there a need to brake it for any reason? I would think the sails are least wind resistant when they are moving? Of course my tower went down with the wheel spinning. Thanks for any help.
Mike, let me know when your windmill is going up. Sometimes I’m in the New Braunfels area.

You can pull the tail over halfway or so. That will keep the wheel out of the wind fully, so it will turn slower. As long as the brake doesn't ride on the hub. ANother good reason to make sure the brake adjusting hardware works properly.
