TRip Out West
TRip Out West
Went on a trip out to West Texas last week. One place I visited was Seminole State Park. Wanted to see the Pictographs on the rocks. Went down the Windmill Trail and found what Steve Adams and I believe is a Currie. Plus a neat painted Dempster. Been on many trips and for the first and I hope the last time had car trouble, had to be hauled into a shop in Alpine Texas on Friday afternoon about 7 PM. Walked over to the shop Saturday, found them working. Told them I'd gladly pay the overtime if they would work on it Sunday. Got a call about noon Sunday they had my car repaired. Got to spend 1 day in Big Bend instead of the 3 I was planning on.

Well that is pretty cool Wayne thanks for the pics !!
Re: TRip Out West
That is cool. Sorry to hear about your car troubles. Did you spend any time at the Pecos River High Bridge and did you give your regards to Miss Lilly?

The fan on the ground was an impressive size !
Re: TRip Out West
I did spend time at the Pecos High Bridge. Awesome! I did go by the Jersey Lilly. Was kinda disappointed. I don't think the State Texas is doing a very good job taking care of the Jersey Lilly. There's a Jersey Lilly at a museum in Pecos that really looks good. I thought the fan looked big also, but in the Windmillers Bible it say they only went up to 10FT. I've been trying to upload a sign that told the story of the mill. For some reason it's not going through. It told that a Rancher had put the windmill over a spring. During it's day it pumped water for the folks around there and for the railroad. It pumped to a stone tank up on a hill. I drove by the tank coming into the park.

Thanks Wayne. You went through my greatest fear when travelling. A breakdown. Glad it went well getting it fixed.
Call Dan Benjamin for parts. P M me for the phone number. IF YOU TALK TO HIM, AND HE HELPS YOU, THEN BUY FROM HIM. IT CREATES GOOD KARMA.

I found out there's always blessings in Dark Clouds. I was on top of a mountain driving around right before it quit. It waited to quit until I got on flat ground. Then finding the the garage open on Saturday, so I could talk to them and get the repairs started. Plus it could have happened in Big Bend where there's no cell coverage. So all in all it was a good trip. Big let down coming back home to the same old grind!
