Warner Company Denver CO

Generally speaking, this area is for general discussion about windmills, in most cases.

Warner Company Denver CO

Post by babraid »

Hi everybody -
Around the Denver area I've seen a couple Fairburys with "Warner Co Denver Colorado" stenciled on the vane. I've found mention of Warner being in business in the 1920s in what was the manufacturing section of Denver, and an older gentleman told me there was a Warner factory or fabrication shop in his home town of Brighton (a town not far outside Denver).
Has anyone else seen any windmills with Warner on the vane? Or know anything about the Warner Company?
Have a good weekend 🙂

Edited from the green book....

during the depression of the 30's the Warner Co of Denver distributed Fairbury windmills. Both Wooden and steel pumping mills.

There are 2 pieces of collectables for this company, one is a price folder, with no pictures. The other is catalog #34 showing pictures and other info on the Fairbury line.

I don't see a start or end date the company sold the mills, so I won't try to guess. It does say during the great depression, though. I guess it start during the early 30's, and ended in the late 30's or early 40's, due to what it says.

It's a book by T Lindsay Baker, documenting all the available and collected paper information, for American windmills and the makers, and where it's all kept or located. Not a repair or identification book, that is his other one, A Field Guide to American Windmills. The green book is North American Windmill Manufacturers' Trade Literature.
