What is this?

I've been going through my pile of tower parts and this came to the surface. It is about 24" long and the other end is the same as this.

A horizontal girt for an Aermotor tower. Older version. Had cross bracing with button heads that fit into the larger portion of the slot and slid into the smaller portion.
