Thanks Paul
Now I need to start looking for an 8 cycle to go with the Aermotor pump jack I have.
Since I am getting rid of the overpriced John Deere stuff.

I had a chance for one but was missing the drive gear, guess that is a tough one to find

I see them for sale on Smokstak every once in awhile. I used to wonder about what they meant being an 8 cycle. Then I learned it just holds the exhaust valve open until it cycles 8 times. Helped cool the engine and made it cheaper to run. My 7 HP Economy Hit & Miss becomes a 5 or 6 cycle when running my grist mill, 7 or 8 with no load

One thing he did not mention was the muffler. his engine has a straight pipe on it. The correct or original muffler shoots the exhaust back towards the engine. The reason they did this was to use the exhaust air to help cool the engine during the cycles with the exhaust valve held open.
