my neighbor has an offset well. Good planning will also help to keep it from freezing in the winter.
Call Dan Benjamin for parts. P M me for the phone number. IF YOU TALK TO HIM, AND HE HELPS YOU, THEN BUY FROM HIM. IT CREATES GOOD KARMA.

This may sound like a stupid question to a bunch of old pros, but which picture do you see the broken main shaft in and are you able to point it out? Also, is that an easy part to come by for this particular specimen?

Because the hub separated from the gearbox and there is no main shaft visible (remaining) sticking out of the gearbox, I’m presuming the part of the shaft that failed and broke, is likely still in the hub.

I’d imagine Dan Benjamin has some already in stock or could make you a new shaft.

Matthew if you can it probably would be a good idea to get the mill on the ground and pull the hood off and check the inside for damage especially the gears.and snout of the mill.
