Is the plug on the 602 hub a special size ? 1/2 pipe does not feel right for it

Those plugs are designed to swipe the oil collector not sure if a pipe plug would work right.

I respectfull disagree on the plug swiping the oil. The base of the plug should be above the inside of the hub. If not, a whole lot of us would be in serious trouble. I've never had, even a replacement plug dip below the inner scrape face.

I don't believe it actually scrapes it but is designed to stop excessive oil from the oil collector coming out all over with a narrow clearance. That's the way it was explained to me from the old timmers.

I figure the inside of the hub is 95% scrape-able. If the 5% plug does not get scraped, then it's just fine and dandy. If a guy had to machine / mill / grind / sand / the bottom of the plug, then there would be a windmillers' rebellion. lol
