Impressive work on the lathe and milling machine Mark.

Thank you Dan.

Nice work Mark. My tailbone pivot holes were egg shaped. I had my welding guy fill in the oblong side and I will use a die grinder to dress it out.

Kenneth, I thought about welding them up and then boring them out but decided to go with the oilite bronze. I would think your way is just as good and maybe better. I left a shoulder on both bushings to take the place of the washers that were there before. However, I’m thinking of cutting them off and then making bronze washers so they are separate
Re: Flint & Walling Steel Star
I bored the governor arm and the shifting arm out to clean up the egg shaped holes. Made oilite bronze bushings for them to take them back to .875” to fit the walking beam pin. Also made a new rod to connect them together. Not sure what it’s called. It’s just 3/4” square stock with a hole in each end for a roll pin.

You've been quite the busy bee, nice work.
Re: Flint & Walling Steel Star
Mark , when the windmill trade show is in Poteet TX next fall will you please bring your machineing skills and have a class session on how to do some of those things you do . It would be well attended by amatures like me .
Re: Flint & Walling Steel Star
Mike, I would be glad to but I doubt there’s a machine shop there and would be hard to bring mine. Thanks for the compliments to both you and Dan.
