Re: Heller Aller Mod 8
I think Pat Hunt makes and sells "J-bolts" to hold them tight in the clips.

Do you have a picture of these? I just put up my Heller Aller and it seems to have a some rattling of the blades (not sure if anything more than normal). Wondering if I should have secured them better. It just ...

Pull out winch
I'm needing a pull out winch for a 4 leg tower. The windmill is a Heller Aller, but I assume many types of winch will work. Tower and mill are rusted patina and looking for a nice functioning winch with the same patina.

Re: #3 Fairbury
Tractor Supply sells it by the foot around here. Just go in the store, spool off what you need and cut it.

Re: Anchoring tower for 8' Dempster
Sounds good to me except I would go with more concrete. I would do something more like 5-6 bags on each leg.

Heller Aller Direct Stroke
I believe I have a Heller Aller Direct stroke head or at least a good portion of one. The tower was definitely a Heller Aller, but it is being used on another one of my projects. This head has some broken parts and I have not done anything to it. The tail frame is solid and could be reused with new ...

Monarch Windmill
I've been sitting on this project for a while now. I salvaged this windmill when I was 17 and it is what got me started with my love of windmills. I'm told this is a pretty rare one. I had the tower erected at my parents farm for many years and used it as a hunting stand / look out tower with a 4'x4 ...

Baker/Heller Aller Model 28
I just recently picked up this windmill head complete with the wheel and tail. Everything has a nice rusty "patina". It just so happened that I already had the top 10' of a Heller Aller tower to put this on. At one time someone had gutted the gear box and added a sprocket to drive an alternator to ...

Re: Heller Aller Mod 8
Hi Kenneth,
Looks good. I just took the same one apart over the weekend. Mine is missing the internal gears and such for pumping. Someone had taken it all out and added a sprocket to run an alternator for electricity. Do you have any info on the snout bearing you sourced for it? Mine is worn out bad ...

New Guy with Monarch and Heller-Aller windmills
Thanks for having me in the group. I was on the old forum many years ago and got everyone's help identifying my first windmill which is a a pretty rare early Monarch direct stroke. I still have that one to rebuild since it needs a lot of work. I'll post up some pictures when I get a chance. I may be ...
