I thought the 1909/1910 engines had the dogbone style governor with change to the governor in the flywheel (referred to as the lolypop style) 1911 and newer. Do you have any suggestions on trying to date the 8 ...

With that much wear wouldn't the gears be badly worn, at an angle. Is that a 6' or 8' foot windmill case?

welcome to the forum. Pictures will help alot, I think some of these guys can identify a certain windmill from its shadow

I take the time to cut off the shaft and then set the hub up on the mill table and drill out the shaft to just inside the diameter of the shaft, then the shaft presses out of the hub very easy. You can also drill out the shaft on a drill press
