Yup, read that part about the color in the field guide too haha. One pictured might be a jr. or a 6ft. According to copies of old sales literature I've found online, the 8ft special has 18 blades.

18 sails. The gearbox came without a wheel or tail. I got those from Jim Collums, and Dan Benjamin has all new sails for me.

Spoke with Jim yesterday afternoon. He's still in the hospital but said he's doing okay and hopes to be out in time for the poteet strawberry festival this weekend.

I would like to have it. But i don't think i need it bad enough to drive for 12 hours to get it. I'll be happy to wait for something closer. Hahaha

Not perfect, but for my first time i think it'll do. Still need to dress it out once it cools completely.
